You usually need a referral to a pain clinic.

If you are getting no help from family doctor, it is a reasonable request to ask for a referral to a

pain clinic.

If the wait is long, send a letter to the provincial health minister and your MLA

I am writing in hopes you can help me with my 16 year old daughter. She is currently recovering from spinal surgery on a arachnoid cyst that has compromised her spine. The cyst is large and starting from T4 to T9. This is the second surgery in 6 years to put shunts in. She is also living with severe chronic pain that has kept her in a wheelchair for 9 months following her last surgery. I'm wondering where the best place in Canada is to take her? Her quality of life is horrible and i am wanting to get her the best support that i can so she can function and have her life back.

I look forward to hearing from you.
